Privacy & cookies

Plain English, UK GDPR compliant. The short version: your VAT figures are processed in your browser and never sent to us.

The figures you enter

Everything you type into the rolling tracker and the Flat Rate Scheme advisor — your monthly turnover, your trade, your forecasts — is processed entirely in your browser. It is never transmitted to us, never stored on our servers, and never recorded in analytics. The optional “save link” encodes your figures in the page address on your own device only; if you share that link, you are sharing it, not us.

Data controller

The data controller for this site is the independent UK publisher behind UKVATTracker (UK company registration in progress), registered address to be published once the UK entity is incorporated. For any data question, contact [email protected].

Cookies and analytics

We use privacy-respecting analytics that load only after you consent. Our cookie banner offers a clear Reject All option alongside Accept, in line with ICO guidance. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set, and any advertising shown is non-personalised.

Legal basis for processing

Where we process limited technical data (for example, to keep the site secure and functioning), our legal basis is our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR. Where we use optional analytics or advertising, our basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a), which you can withdraw at any time by changing your cookie choice.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase and restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing. Because we do not collect identifying personal data from the calculators, there is usually nothing for us to retrieve — but you can contact us at any time.

Complaints to the ICO

If you have concerns about how we process your personal data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would, of course, prefer you raised it with us first.

Changes

We will update this notice if our data practices change, and revise the effective date at the top.
